Black Sabbath In April 1977, AC/DC got the chance of playing 11 dates in Europe opening for Black Sabbath – a major opportunity and taking in shows across France, Germany, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Sweden. And it was in Sweden – on April 29 – that things went wrong. An argument between Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler (below) and ’DC took a nasty turn when the former pulled a knife on Malcolm Young. What happened next is that Young is said to have punched out the bassist. Result? AC/DC were thrown off the Sabbath tour.
